🕵️♀️ What are Poll/Survey Results?
When you run a poll or survey in Geekbot, the Results section gives you a clear visual breakdown of:
Who participated
How people responded
Trends over time
Individual responses
Whether it’s a one-time poll or a recurring pulse survey, results help you make sense of what your team is saying.
📅 View a specific Poll/Survey (single day view)
Running a retro or pulse check? Use the single day view to get a snapshot of how that session went.
You'll see:
✅ Participation rate (who answered)
📊 Visual charts for each question (bar graphs, donut charts)
💡 Insight into what's working (and what needs attention)
Example: If participation dipped this week, was the timing off? Or was the topic unclear?
👀 Dig into individual feedback
Want to know who said what? Just click “Show Votes” on any question.

This is great for understanding split opinions or clarifying specific comments.

💬 Make sense of Open Ended responses
Open ended responses let people reply to your question in their own words. Geekbot gives you two ways to make sense of the answers and you can switch between them with the AI Categories and User responses toggle at the top right of each question.
User responses
This is the raw view. You'll see every answer exactly as it was submitted, along with the participant's name and the time they replied. Scroll through the list to go over the full set of responses.
AI Categories
Reading dozens of free-text answers one by one takes time. AI Categories does that work for you, grouping every response into themes so you can see what your team is really saying at a glance.
For each theme you'll get:
📊 A bar chart showing how many responses fall into it, with the vote count and percentage
🍩 A donut chart highlighting the top themes, with the smaller ones grouped under "Other"
Example: If several people mention recognition in different ways, AI Categories surfaces "Public recognition & shoutouts" as a single theme instead of leaving you to spot the pattern yourself.
🚨 Attention: Categories are generated once the poll closes, so the analysis always covers the full set of responses.
📈 Track trends over time (period view)
Insights truly shine when you look at the bigger picture. With Period View, you can:
Select a custom date range
See how responses change over multiple survey rounds
Spot patterns tied to product launches, team changes, or other events
Example: Wondering if the switch to async standups improved communication? Period View will show the trend.
