Benefits

The Agree/Disagree template helps you gauge opinion on a specific topic. Whether you’re testing new ideas, gathering feedback on internal tools, or checking team alignment, the format offers a clear sentiment range to avoid overwhelming participants.

How do you set up the template?

  • Choose your Audience

    • Pick from two options to define who receives the survey:

      • Direct Users: Select individuals to receive the survey via DM

      • Slack Channel: Post the survey in a public channel where all members can respond

  • Schedule your survey

    • Pick recurring check-ins (e.g., monthly or quarterly) to track sentiment over time

    • Run on demand to evaluate a product launch, policy update, or fresh idea

  • Determine who can see the Results

    • Make responses visible to everyone (either live or once the survey closes)

    • Restrict visibility (so only you can see results)

    • Enable anonymous responses (available for any poll/survey)

When you're all set, hit Publish. Geekbot will ping your team as per your delivery settings and responses will arrive soon enough. 🎉

Best practices

  • Phrase your statements clearly and neutrally to avoid influencing answers

  • Use the survey to capture the intensity of opinion (“strongly agree” vs “agree”)

  • Surface trends using consistent statements and regular surveys
