What is the Starter plan?
The Starter plan is Geekbot’s free plan for small teams. It gives you access to core standup, poll, and survey functionality, completely free, for up to 10 active participants.
It’s ideal for small teams that want to run async standups or gather team feedback without committing to a paid plan.
What’s included in the Starter plan?
For Standups, the Starter plan gives you the core functionality you need to keep your team aligned and informed. Specifically, you can:
Run unlimited standups and reports
Fully customize standup questions and schedules
Set out-of-office periods
Access 25+ pre-built templates
View reporting insights and analytics
🔒 There are no compromises on security. All security certifications and compliance standards apply to every plan, including Starter.
For Polls & Surveys, there is no feature difference between Starter and Basic. All poll features available in the Basic plan are also included in the Starter plan. The only difference is the number of active users included in the plan. Up to 10 users is free and falls under the Starter plan. More than 10 falls under the Basic plan.
What does “up to 10 users” mean?
The Starter plan includes up to 10 active participants per month.
An active participant is someone who:
Participates in an active standup
Responds to a poll or survey
What happens if we go over 10 participants?
If more than 10 people actively use Geekbot in a month, you’ll need to upgrade to the Basic plan. You won’t suddenly lose access, but to continue using Geekbot with more participants, a paid plan will be required.
What features are not available in the Standups Starter plan?
Most standup core features are included. However, some advanced features are only available on paid plans, such as:
Post Standup reports in a thread
Manual reporting reminders
Anonymous standup reporting
API access
Engagement summaries
Geekbot AI
CSV exports (for standups)
Unlimited reporting history (Starter includes up to 3 months)

What if we need one of these advanced features but we’re still under 10 users?
If your team needs an advanced feature that’s only available on a paid plan, you can upgrade to the Basic plan at any time, even if you have fewer than 10 active users.
This gives you the flexibility to access advanced capabilities when you need them, without having to grow beyond 10 users first.
Can we stay on the Starter plan forever?
Yes, you can stay on the Starter plan indefinitely, as long as you remain within 10 active participants and don’t require advanced features that are only available on paid plans. There’s no time limit and no automatic upgrade. You’ll only need to move to a paid plan if:
You exceed 10 active participants, or
You need access to advanced features available on the Basic or Enterprise plans
